How to Change Palm Pre SMS Alerts and Notifications
This is a quick example of what we’ve been working on. This isn’t our stand alone app, because we haven’t built an installer for the Pre yet, so we hacked it into the Sounds and Ringtones section.
It just shows that YES we can code and YES we are ready to get these out to you. It’s only a matter of time.
In respect for Palm, we will NOT release the code or any hacks – we are true developers and will produce completely FREE applications for you to download. We promise.

how do i download the rigntone application?
Register (using the email you use on your pre), login, come to this post and click the Send to My Pre button. Then, click the link in your email (from your phone) and it will highlight, then the app will be in your launcher.

The app is in the post labeled New Version, but if your phone has been upgraded to WebOS 1.0.4 it will not install – they patched the hole.
how can i go back to 1.0.3 so i can install app?
You could find an older version of the WebOS doctor and reinstall your phone to factory condition, then install the app before it updates to 1.0.4 – but that seems excessive. We’re working on it and I know we’ll have a way soon!
how do i get the alert to stop playing once i hear it? with my other phones, as soon as i would hit a button, it was instantly go off, but after i installed this app, i can type an entire text before it goes off.

Ok, so when is this coming out…I’ve been waiting like a month now…..
It was out – Palm plugged the hole. We’re now working on a way to let you install apps easily, and enhancing the old version. I’m debugging the enhancements now; the way to install it is being tested and debugged. I’d love to give a date, but we don’t know if we’ll have them done this weekend or next. I wasn’t too happy with the limitations of the old sound app, so I don’t want to just release that one because I know I can make it better.
I am confused. Is there a fix or not???

Am I getting this right… Are you showing me something on your phone that I cannot download/upload/whatever to my phone? Kinda not liking that. Love the fact that you came up with it but what about the rest of us that don’t have time/ability to hack the phone? Or I am just a loser that can’t find the “I need this now… and here’s where to download it” button.

Please include a repeating alert for missed phone calls or sms messages. There is a lot of interest in this feature. One thread on this feature had 2700 views.
