NOTE: Delete has been FIXED! If you click the link again it will overwrite your existing program and then you can delete it! Sorry for the wait! I’m an idiot and had a typo….. AARGH! Make sure you reset your tones back to default before you delete or you’re stuck with them (unless you reinstall the app). Don’t worry – it’ll delete again. We did it over, and over, and over, and over………
OK – now on to more app building!
SPECIAL NOTE! So I stop getting tons of emails.
When you click the link in your email, it will HIGHLIGHT for about a second or two. THEN —- NOTHING! But the app will be installed. There is NO “Do you want to proceed” or anything. It’s quiet and sneaky – ninja like as pointed out before. That’s too funny.
We have changed the app to allow you te reset your tones to the default ones. There is a toggle switch at the top. For now, you will have no reason to delete because you can switch back and forth. If you don’t want custom tones, switch the toggle to on and you’ll default to the stock Pre tones.

There isn’t any way to silence the alerts or notifications. They have to run their course. Good thing you added the switch back to default option.

Can you make it where the connection sound is different from the notification sounds. It sounds weird when you hook up your phone to power and it sounds the notification sound that you want for your messages etc.

What triggers an alert vs. what triggers a notification?
Is there no way to set individual sounds for email, sms, voicemail?

having trouble clicking on link, just opens up a bunch of new cards, but none of them fully load. Don’t know what the issue could be.
You have to click the link in your email inbox. Clicking from a text message or web browser will cause the multiple card thing to happen.

I keep sending this to my phone and it sends fine but when I open it it just says retrieving email text then it times out. I’ve tried 5 times now. Any ideas?

Just tried again,what it says exactly is download of the message body timed out. The system will retry soon.
Are you retrieving other email ok?
Yes no problems at all. I’ve even tried resetting my phone.
Just tried again no luck. Its driving me insane,lol. I’m dying to try you guys great work. All it shows when I open the email is a round “loading” circle, then that message about it timed out shows up.
Can someone try the link right now and see if it goes through ok,maybe something happen and its not working right right now
aaron130 – glad me emailing you the link directly worked. Must be a problem with Comcast and the email script. If anyone else from Comcast has proplems, just email support@pimpmypre.com and we’ll email you the link tomorrow. I’m off to bed for the night.

Again, no way to set different tones for email, txt, etc? Still leaves the problem that I’m not sure, when I hear the tone, whether it’s worth taking it out of my pocket or not.
I agree with dochouse. Shouldn’t SMS text and e-mail have different sounds. Can that be done or is that a limitation of the pre? I see notification is for e-mail/SMS. What does alert sound play for? Otherwise great start! At least I don’t have to return my pre to the store now because there is light at the end of the tunnel!! Thank You.
I am able to delete the APP without a problem, and installed it right back, works awesome for first app without SDK to lead the way.

So I got the link, but my pre won’t open from the email!
Ahh…my notification is now the beam in sound from Ster Trek Next Gen. So, I plug in to charge, or texts coming in gets that. Now, what was the alert for? I’m sleepy & not figuring it out…

Only time my alert went off was for a calendar notification.
So, notification = plug in, text, or call ended…weird. Oh, that’s what I couldn’t remember, calendar alerts…hmmm…ideas I might have…sorry for that Yoda syntax.

where do you get the sounds from
I found them on a site that had a lot of ST sounds…so long ago though. You will have to google. Although you might find some in ths site: http://www.trekconnection.com/sounds/wave/
Try google..that’s got some that are better.
I TRIED TO DOWNLOAD THIS PIMP MY PRE but it keeps opening page after page like 20 blank pages then asks if i wanna stoe unopened pages to my unused memory

ive sent it to my e-mail on the pc.when i try to go to that same place with my phone it wont get it,how can i send it straight to my pre?
register with the email you use on your pre, or email me from your email on your pre and I’ll send you the link.
It would be better to register with us using the email you use on your Pre so you can get future apps and updates.

I set a tone and now it just rings that tone, no matter what I do. I cannot get it to stop…
Just like the default notification tone – it goes off for everything. We’re not hacking Palm’s apps, just giving you the ability to change the sound.

Is it possible to have one sound for an SMS, another for Email,and another for when you plug in the device or put it on the touchstone charger?
