Pre Sales Leading the Way…To Disappointment??

So, we’re going to write this off as a case of good news/bad news. Good news: Pre sales are leading the charge of 823,000 handsets sold by Palm in the first Quarter. And then the Bad News…no matter how you slice it in financial mumbo-jumbo; Palm is reporting a loss of quite a few million in the first Quarter.

So yea, not the greatest news from a company, we are hoping has it in them to be around for the long haul. We thoroughly enjoy our Pre’s and really love developing for them. So the “belly up” option they have faced in the past is really not something we want to imagine.

But for you glass-half-full types out there, think of it this way. We are talking about a company that has been circling the drain for quite some time now. Prior to the Pre, they were seen as a failing relic of mobile phone past. Now they have a very popular handset that has ushered in a future of devices sporting a solid OS with loads of potential (man, I should get some Palm freebies for this…wink ). Bottom line, you gotta spend money to make money. And in the grand scheme of things, we are only in the infancy of this OS and have great hope for a long and bright future.

So while you nervous types out there crunch the numbers, we’re gonna get back to reading this motivational self-help book that has made us brighter and more bushy tailed than that special punch we got at prom. YEAAAA,  Class of 2002!!!!!!
